Without kind generosity and donations, the Sunflower Trust would not be able to provide the Sunflower Programme and support to families that desperately need it.
Money is often a sensitive matter. Some of us are fortunate enough to have sufficient to support good causes, others only have a little but still wish to give. Whatever size of donation you can contribute, it is always truly appreciated and our sincerest, heartfelt thanks go to those who can give.
If you can, why not change a child’s life forever!
Children with complex challenges need focused attention to help them thrive. Unfortunately, resources are limited and children already struggling in disadvantaged families suffer the most. As a charity, it is the Sunflower Trust’s remit to help all children to be the best they can be, regardless of background or wealth.
For as little as the cost of one bursary (£1,000), you can change a child's life forever. By pledging this moderate sum, the Sunflower Programme can be offered to a child with health, behavourial and/or learning challenges who would not otherwise be in a position to benefit from the programme.
Without your support, the Sunflower Trust would not be able to provide the treatment and support that our families so desperately need.
Don’t forget to Gift Aid it!
We can claim 25 pence for every £1 you give. This means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to us, £100 is worth £125 and so on.
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. The Sunflower Trust takes your donation - which is money you've already paid tax on - and reclaims the basic rate tax from HMRC on its 'gross' equivalent - the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.
The Sunflower Trust
Legacies provide an essential source of income for The Sunflower Trust and are vital in helping to safeguard our future. Please help support our children and their families in future years by remembering the Sunflower Trust in your Will. Each legacy drawn up in favour of the Sunflower Trust will be free from inheritance tax as the taxable value of your estate is reduced by the value of your bequest to us.
How do I leave a gift in my Will to the Sunflower Trust?
To ensure that your Will is well planned and accurate, we would advise that you consult your solicitor. Suggested text for inclusion would be:
"I bequeath to the Sunflower Trust , Registered Charity No. 1055712, the sum of £.................. free of Inheritance Tax for its general Charitable purposes and I declare the receipt of the Treasurer or other apparent Officer of the said charity for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my Executors for the said legacy."
Direct Payroll Giving
Payroll giving the most tax-effective way to support The Sunflower Trust. It works as follows: you, the donor, commit to supporting the Sunflower Trust on a monthly basis directly from your pay.
Payroll Giving allows you to make donations to charity directly from your pay or company/personal pension. The donations are made after your National Insurance contributions are calculated but before Income Tax is worked out and deducted. Because of this, you only pay tax on what's left. This means that you get tax relief on your donation immediately - and at your highest rate of tax.
Example - basic rate tax and Payroll Giving
You pay tax at the basic rate of 20% and authorise a monthly donation of £10. That means you save £2 tax (20% of £10). The actual cost of the donation to you is £8.
Example - higher rate tax and Payroll Giving
You pay tax at the higher rate of 40% and authorise a monthly donation of £10. That means you save £4 (40 per cent of £10). The actual cost of the donation to you is £6
You need to get in touch with your employer's payroll department to ask them if they can help and please do let us know too!

Corporate Support & Donations
Many businesses support the Sunflower Trust by making a donation every year. These donations can be made at any time. It is an easy way for companies to work in partnership with the Sunflower Trust and support their local community.
Team spirit, supporting a local charity, having fun and boosting staff morale are some of the reasons why companies support Sunflower through their corporate social responsibility programme. Don’t forget to ask your company if they would match fund – many companies do!
How would Sunflower spend your donation?
Any donations made by a company or its staff will help to support the aims and objectives of the Sunflower Trust and will be restricted to the purpose the donation has been made - e.g a bursary for a child, a workshop for a school, running costs of the support calls, training a practitioner, funding a specific post, initiative or a clearly defined project.
If you have your own ideas for a fundraising activity, please contact the Sunflower Trust and we can help you set up a fundraising page.
