Does your child need a little extra support?

As a parent, it is painful to watch your child struggle socially, behaviourally, academically or even on the sports field! Yet understanding why they are struggling and how best to help them is often a confusing and frustrating process. In today’s modern world, more and more children are suffering from a range of challenges such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Asperger’s, Autism, low self-esteem, poor concentration, allergies or headaches. For some children, there is no obvious reason why they need a little extra support.

Whether a child has a formal diagnosis or not, understanding the root cause and the way in which the mind mediates between the brain and the body, is critical to effectively addressing the problem.

A properly functioning brain communicates between both hemispheres, as well as within each hemisphere, at lightning speed. Think of these communications like runners in a relay race: They connect, pass on information, and release, repeating this process millions of times a minute around the body via the nervous system. In a poorly functioning nervous system, these runners are often out of sync, missing each other or passing on only partial information.

Such misconnection can occur at any time during brain development, even in the womb, but it generally remains undetected until obvious symptoms begin to appear, usually at school age and is the root of all types of learning, behaviour and social problems.

The Sunflower Programme tests the integrity and viability of the nervous system. It is the central nervous system that regulates and integrates all aspects of health and behaviour and Sunflower has found that if it sorts out much of this underlying confusion that children respond far better to teachers or additional specialist help they may be receiving.

The holistic programme activates the neurological integration of the eyes, ears, balance and co-ordination and ensures the two sides of the brain work effectively and as it should. Sunflower has had hundreds of children go through and the before and after results have been impressive – with an average 80% uplift in a child’s health and wellbeing.

As one Sunflower parent recalls, “We increasingly became concerned about our son Theo. He was reserved at school, only responding quietly to questions if pushed, was struggling with his reading and falling behind in class. When it came to writing and homework he was uninterested, always looking for excuses as to why now was not a good time. Any walking or sport was also avoided and we would often carry him piggyback to get anywhere as a family. Tantrums and tears were part of a standard day and we found it heartbreaking because he was clearly capable.

A friend recommended the Sunflower Programme and I was certainly not prepared for what happened next. The Sunflower Practitioner showed me how misaligned Theo’s body was – he was lopsided, appeared to have flat feet and one leg longer than the other! Slowly, he fixed Theo up and with each visit I was able to report back improvements. After one particular visit, Theo and I ran a mile together – I cried most of the way. For the first time in his life he welcomed a run and enjoyed it – rusty legs is what he called it!

What I didn’t really expect so quickly with the realignment of Theo’s physic was that his confidence in his own ability would grow to the extent it did which has meant that he has head on, tackled his work at school. He now plans his “show and tells” every week, he puts his hand up in class wanting to share something he has made, been given or had remembered. He is becoming a bookworm – loving to read stories and always keen to move onto the next. His writing has improved and he now makes lists, there are lists for everything! His spelling tests have gone from zero to hero and he has been called out by the school with award after award for hard work, commitment and effort. Theo can be whatever he wants to be – his life is in his control – an exciting place to be and what’s more – he knows it!”
